The Opportunity

At Arup, we use cutting-edge digital technologies to transform how infrastructure and buildings are designed, delivered, and managed. As a Graduate BIM Technician, you'll play a key role in developing intelligent digital models that help bring some of the world's most ambitious engineering projects to life.

We're looking for curious, detail-oriented graduates who have a passion for digital design, innovation, and collaborative problem-solving.

As part of our multidisciplinary teams, you'll support the creation, coordination and management of Building Information Models (BIM) across a diverse portfolio of projects spanning the built environment, transport, water, energy and infrastructure sectors.

Working alongside engineers, architects and digital specialists, you'll gain exposure to industry-leading tools, workflows and project delivery practices while building a strong foundation for your career.

We're seeking enthusiastic graduates with a passion for digital design, engineering technology, and the built environment.

As a Graduate BIM Technician, you will:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality 3D BIM models and technical drawings.
  • Support multidisciplinary design coordination and clash detection activities.
  • Assist with the production of project documentation and digital deliverables.
  • Apply BIM standards, workflows and quality assurance procedures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver efficient and innovative design solutions.
  • Support the adoption of digital engineering best practices across projects.

Is this role right for you?  

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:    

An undergraduate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Structural Engineering
  • Architectural Technology
  • Architecture
  • Building Services Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • Digital Construction
  • BIM and Digital Engineering
  • Geomatics / Surveying
  • Engineering Technology or a related discipline

You will also demonstrate:

  • An interest in BIM, digital engineering and emerging technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A willingness to learn new software and digital delivery methods.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery.

To be considered for a graduate opportunity, your application must include a copy of your academic transcript and meet the following criteria:  

  • Full working rights in the country of application  
  • No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role  
  • Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.
