BIM Infrastructure Coordinator

We currently have a requirement for an experienced Civil BIM Coordinator / BIM Manager to join our BIM Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual looking to develop their career in BIM coordination and information management. The company's workload varies and includes national and international projects across multiple sectors.
The successful candidate will work across a diverse range of projects involving civil site infrastructure, including road layouts, underground services, site topography and strata, civil structures, retaining walls and culverts. The role combines hands-on infrastructure modelling with multidisciplinary BIM coordination and project information management responsibilities.
As BIM Infrastructure Coordinator, you will:
- Develop and coordinate accurate 3D models of civil and site infrastructure geometry using Autodesk Civil 3D and other appropriate BIM authoring tools.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design information with internal teams, external consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of project BIM and information management requirements, standards and workflows.
- Work within, administer and configure Common Data Environments (CDEs), such as Autodesk Construction Cloud and Bentley ProjectWise, including folder structures, permissions, workflows, metadata, review processes and information status controls.
- Support the preparation and maintenance of BIM Execution Plans, responsibility matrices, Master Information Delivery Plans, Task Information Delivery Plans and project-specific BIM procedures.
- Coordinate model federation, model reviews, clash detection, issue management and resolution using tools such as Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Forma Model Coordination or Bentley iTwin.
- Assist with BIM mobilisation, capability reviews, delivery risk identification and information delivery reporting.
- Support and mentor less-experienced team members in BIM tools, CDE processes and project standards.
- Complete work to agreed timescales, programme and budgetary constraints.
Does this role inspire you?
We're looking for a highly motivated individual with an active interest in digital delivery, civil infrastructure and site development. These are the essential skills and qualifications for the position:
- Minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience, preferably within a consultancy or multidisciplinary project environment.
- HNC/HND in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent (NFQ Level 6 or above). Other relevant technical or BIM qualifications may be considered where infrastructure modelling and coordination skills are of a high standard.
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and experience developing complex 3D models of civil and site infrastructure geometry.
- Practical experience coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models and managing coordination issues through to resolution.
- Experience working within and supporting the configuration of CDE platforms, preferably Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and/or Bentley ProjectWise.
- Working knowledge of ISO 19650 principles and their application to project information management, including naming, status, revision, review, approval and information exchange requirements.
- Ability to review models and information for compliance with project standards, information requirements and agreed quality procedures.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to facilitate coordination activities and engage effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
We also value:
- An Autodesk Certified qualification in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- A qualification in BIM or Information Management
- Experience using Autodesk Revit on infrastructure projects
- Experience using Autodesk Infraworks for early-stage site conceptual design and visualization
- Knowledge of Autodesk Navisworks for model federation, coordination, clash detection, issue review and construction sequencing.
- Knowledge of Bentley iTwin for multidisciplinary model federation, design review and project coordination.
- Experience contributing to BIM Execution Plans, responsibility matrices, MIDPs, TIDPs and related information management documentation.
- Experience facilitating BIM coordination reviews or meetings and maintaining issue and action registers.
- Awareness of BIM-related project risks, capability assessments, mobilisation activities and information delivery reporting.
- Experience supporting, mentoring or training colleagues in BIM authoring tools, coordination processes, CDE workflows and project standards.
