The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Project Manager – Renewable Energy & Power Systems to join our growing Energy team in Bogotá, Colombia.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex and high-impact energy projects across Latin America, supporting clients as they navigate the energy transition and develop the next generation of renewable energy and power infrastructure assets.
The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary project teams and contribute to the delivery of a diverse portfolio of assignments spanning Solar PV, Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hydropower, Transmission and Substation infrastructure. Projects may include technical advisory, owner's engineering, lender's technical advisory, technical due diligence, feasibility studies, project development support, and construction monitoring.
Working closely with clients, technical specialists, and colleagues across Arup's global network, you will be responsible for managing project delivery, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of projects from inception through completion.
This role offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise, project leadership, and client engagement while contributing to the growth of Arup's Energy business across the Latin American region. Candidates may have a primary technical specialization in one energy technology; however, they should be comfortable working across multiple technologies and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.

- Lead and manage multidisciplinary energy projects across Latin America, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of quality, safety, schedule, and commercial performance.
- Coordinate and guide project teams comprising specialists from multiple disciplines and geographies, fostering collaboration and effective project execution.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight on projects involving renewable energy and power infrastructure, including Solar PV, Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hydropower, Transmission and Substation assets.
- Deliver and oversee technical advisory services throughout the project lifecycle, including technical due diligence, lender's technical advisory, owner's engineering, feasibility studies, project development support, and construction monitoring assignments.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and client expectations to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and supporting them in addressing technical, commercial, and strategic challenges.
- Lead client interactions, workshops, and project meetings, while ensuring effective communication with all project stakeholders.
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client engagement, market intelligence, and identification of new opportunities within the energy sector.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Arup's global network to bring innovative and integrated solutions to clients.
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and the continued growth of the Energy team.
- Contribute to the development and expansion of Arup's Energy business across Latin America.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. A postgraduate qualification in a relevant field would be considered advantageous.
- Demonstrated professional experience in the energy sector, with a strong understanding of renewable energy and power infrastructure projects.
- At least 8 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Solar PV, Wind, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Hydropower, Transmission, Substations, Power Systems, or related energy infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary projects, including responsibility for project planning, resource management, client engagement, risk management, and commercial performance.
- Experience delivering technical advisory, owner's engineering, technical due diligence, feasibility studies, project development support, construction monitoring, or related consulting services would be highly valued.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, investors, lenders, utilities, regulatory authorities, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work across multiple technologies and project stages, applying sound engineering judgment and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
- Experience working on international projects or within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams is desirable.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is required.
