The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading, in all respects, Reference Concept Design (RCD) and Project Specific Output Specification (PSOS) development, including quality assurance, conformance reviews and document management for design build (DB) and progressive design build (PDB) project delivery. Upon joining the team, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to some of the most high-profile rail projects worldwide. Additionally, you will collaborate on projects that involve other Arup businesses, giving you the chance to work with experts across diverse teams and sectors.

  • Providing technical advice and support to the Contracting Authority (CA) during procurement, development and executions phases of the project.
  • Drafting, amending, and revising all PSOS versions with team and authorities throughout Procurement and Development Phase.
  • Ensuring the PSOS document includes the technical and functional project requirements and adjacency needs, design criteria, performance standards, output specifications, QC measures, and service and maintenance considerations necessary for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the Project which will ultimately be the responsibility of Project Co
  • Establishing requirements for design, procurement, manufacture, installation, testing and commissioning of products and components of the proposed work to provide for the safe and reliable operation of the system
  • Identifying and developing all documentation which will form part of, or is necessary for, the PSOS (including, but not limited to, safety, engineering, technical, permitting and approvals, commissioning, and environmental documentation)
  • Provides support across the project to review Project Co’s compliance with the Project Agreement and/or PSOS, and incorporates changes to these documents as agreed to by the CA
  • Build out and strengthen the existing team and enhance technical skills.
  • Share technical knowledge and standard methodologies to provide technical mentoring for the current and future team in preparing RCDs and PSOS.
  • Develop relationships with new key clients and collaborators

Is this role right for you?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • 15 or more years of experience leading the development and preparation of specifications and designs for multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
  • P.Eng in Ontario or ability to obtain a license within 6 months of joining the firm
  • Design and construction of a range of rail transit projects, preferably procured using DB/ PPP and PDB contracts
  • Design, preparation of contract documents and administration of projects on site, for owner clients.
  • DBB, traditional DB/PPP, or PDB

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $190,000 to $230,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
