The Opportunity

We’re currently looking for a Project and Commercial Manager to join our team Integrated Delivery team. This team work side by side with a wide range of Arup’s other specialist disciplines, including urban design, ecology, town planning, digital technology, engineering, cost consulting and architecture. The successful candidate will demonstrate management and commercial skills and will be responsible for supporting the leading management team in coordinating the large project team, developing, tracking and ensuring implementation of clients instructions, managing extensive communications, assisting with managing change on the project through Early Warning Notes (EWN), and undertake Forecasting and Invoicing on a large scale international multidisciplinary project. The position offers scope for personal skill development, especially in relation to increasing project management expertise. The focus will be on developing existing skills and experience of project management and controls, in a stimulating and challenging project environment.

With a well-established business, we offer our clients a full range of services including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Management and delivery of major projects including infrastructure programmes.
  • Concept design to planning, & detail design for construction.
  • Masterplanning & visualisations/3D Modelling.
  • Design guidelines and best practice.
  • Feasibility studies and area strategies.
  • Strategic planning and policy review

If you can combine these skills with an understanding of the landscape architecture industry and a desire to deliver excellent services for clients, we’d like to hear from you! The hired candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of engineers and will have the following responsibilities:  

  • Be accountable for tracking management and delivery and meeting the client and Arup objectives.
  • Integrate with colleagues and operate with enthusiasm and a sense of purpose for the projects, the businesses, and Arup, providing full project management services for the technical and contractual aspects of the multidisciplinary Integrated City Planning (ICP) team.
  • Interact with and advise other Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, Clients, JV Partners, subconsultants and reporting on work progress, strategic delivery co-ordination across the project.
  • Support the tracking of Employers Instructions (EI), General Communications (GC), Early Warning Notes (EWN), Forecasting and Invoicing.
  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating project deliverables, including monitoring the project scope, budget and schedule.
  • Assist with preparation of client submittals, reports, presentations, analysis, guidelines, and project plans

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture (or similar).
  • Hands-on experience of project management and controls in the delivery of feasibility, outline and detailed infrastructure, planning and design projects.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and tracking EIs, GCs, EWNs.
  • Knowledge of project and people management approaches, project controls process and tools, forecasting, invoicing and commercial awareness and contractual implications.
  • Accustomed to taking project management responsibility within their team or project.
