As built environment practitioners, we can support clients at all stages of the asset life cycle from policy setting, strategy formulation, planning and feasibility, to commercialization, construction, operation and exit.
The Opportunity
This is your chance to become part of the Business Advisory Team in Arup Madrid. You will participate in operations in portfolio transactions and participate providing consulting services to a great variety of clients.
As a Business Investment Advisory Trainee at Arup, you will:
- Get involved in due diligence in renewable asset portfolio transactions (in operation and under development).
- Participate in consulting on renewable energy acquisition strategies (Self-consumption, PPAs, Guarantees of Origin, others).
- Provide insight and comfort on technical, commercial and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) aspects for infrastructure and energy investors and developers through the production of due diligence reports, business plans, strategic insights and portfolio optimisation studies.
- Perform a key analyst role in international and multi-disciplinary project delivery teams, liaising with other experts within and outside the organisation on complex issues.
- Distille large amounts of information towards key technical and ESG business plan drivers, inter alia through working with data analytics tools.
- Collaborate with wider international teams to develop our sustainable investment offering.
- Attend meetings with clients to present findings on projects.
Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for someone dynamic and proactive with a great interest in the Business Advisory area. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Currently enrolled in a Degree in Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mines or similar (specialty in electricity or energy technologies preferred)
- Master's degree in Renewable Energies, Energy Engineering or similar will be valuable
- Advanced use of the Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish skills.
You should have a technical understanding or interest in any or, preferably more, of the following energy transition assets:
- Solar PV
- Onshore wind
- Hydrogen value chain and hydrogen derivatives like e-Methanol, green ammonia, and synthetic aviation fuels
- Biofuels
- Biogas, biomethane
- Battery manufacturing and/or storage
- Low emission mobility like EV charging, fuel cell solutions, application of renewable fuels
Conditions
- Be enrolled in the university to be able to establish an agreement with the University
- Immediate incorporation
- Duration: 6 months of extendable internship (possibility of joining after completing the internship)
- Schedule: From 20 to 40 hours per week to be defined with the student
- Remuneration: will depend on the student's level of training and the number of hours established.
