The Opportunity

As a Graduate Consultant within Arup's Operations Consulting team, you will support clients in improving the performance, resilience, sustainability and value of their assets, operations and support services.

Working alongside experienced consultants and multidisciplinary teams, you will develop your professional skills while contributing to advisory and consultancy projects across facilities management, asset management, procurement, strategic sourcing and operational excellence. You will gain exposure to strategic projects throughout the asset lifecycle, helping clients make informed investment decisions, improve service delivery and achieve long-term value from their assets and operations.

Projects may include facilities management advisory, asset management, public sector procurement, tender development, tender evaluation, strategic sourcing, contract establishment, contract mobilisation, contract performance monitoring, operations monitoring and business transformation initiatives for public and private sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Management & Asset Management Consultancy

  • Support the development of facilities management and asset management strategies, policies and operating models.
  • Assist in analysing asset, operational and service performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support clients in improving operational efficiency, service delivery and asset performance.
  • Support clients in the establishment, governance and optimisation of facilities management and support service contracts.
  • Assist in the development of contract management frameworks, performance monitoring arrangements and service delivery models.
  • Support the operational monitoring and review of facilities management and support service contracts, including the analysis of service performance reports and key performance indicators.
  • Assist in assessing regulatory compliance requirements, governance arrangements and operational risks.
  • Support business continuity and operational resilience initiatives.

Procurement & Commercial Advisory

  • Support the development and delivery of procurement and strategic sourcing strategies aligned to client objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, technical specifications, scopes of services and procurement strategies.
  • Support competitive tender processes from procurement planning through to contract award, contract establishment and mobilisation.
  • Assist in developing tender evaluation methodologies, evaluation scorecards and procurement governance documentation.
  • Participate in the evaluation of tender submissions, moderation workshops and the preparation of tender assessment reports, contract award recommendations and procurement governance documentation.
  • Support the establishment of framework agreements and service contracts.
  • Support strategic sourcing exercises for hard and soft facilities management services.
  • Assist with contract mobilisation, contract performance monitoring and contract optimisation activities.
  • Support clients in developing sourcing and contracting strategies that deliver value for money, compliance and sustainable procurement outcomes.

Project Delivery & Client Engagement

  • Support project managers in planning, coordinating and delivering consultancy assignments.
  • Attend client meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations and client deliverables.
  • Monitor project actions, risks and milestones and maintain project documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across a range of projects.
  • Support the development of strategic recommendations and implementation plans to help clients achieve operational and organisational objectives.

  • Supply Chain Management
  • Property, Real Estate or Built Environment-related disciplines

Essential

  • An interest in facilities management, procurement, strategic sourcing, asset management and operational consultancy, and a willingness to learn and develop in these areas.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of procurement, contract management or supplier performance management.
  • Awareness of facilities management, asset management or property advisory services.
  • Understanding of sustainability and decarbonisation principles.
  • Awareness of public sector procurement and governance frameworks.
  • Membership (or student membership) of a relevant professional institution such as IWFM, IFMA, Engineers Ireland, CIBSE, CIOB or the Institute of Asset Management.

  • Full working rights in the country of application  
  • No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role  
  • Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.

Eligibility  

We're able to consider candidates who require an employment permit to work in Ireland, where the role and offered salary meet the Irish Government's eligibility criteria (for example, under the Critical Skills or General Employment Permit schemes).
