As our West Water Business Leader, you would help us continue to grow our Water practice in our West region. Our Water practice is focused on the delivery of professional and engineering services to clients engaged in the water systems including potable water, stormwater, coastal protection, and wastewater services and related investments. We are looking for an influential and impactful individual who is recognized as an industry leader and would apply their deep experience in the sector to deliver business insight, thought leadership, business planning and execution, driving business revenue growth with high profitability. This role can be based out of our San Francisco or Los Angeles office locations.
The Opportunity
· Provide strategic and entrepreneurial leadership, planning and management for our West Geography water professional services business.
· Develop and grow a significant scale business across the spectrum of Arup service offerings from advisory to owner’s representative to engineering contracting.
· Lead and direct multi-disciplinary water-sector projects with a view to securing regular commissions.
· Lead, mentor, and grow our senior people and teams to deliver high-performance water advisory and planning consultancy or engineering services.
· Represent Arup in the water industry at conferences and technical forums, local and regional events.
· Collaborate with other Arup leaders in the Americas Region and globally to deliver on the firm’s mission.
Is this role right for you?
· Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering field such as civil or environmental engineering, hydraulic, hydrology, etc.
· 20 year’s post-graduate engineering or professional consulting experience in North America water infrastructure planning and design, for both public and private sector.
· Have experience leading large (multi-million) engineering, advisory or consulting professional services in the water or wastewater sector with proven successful financial, technical and relationship outcomes.
· Business development experience in the water industry in the west.
· Demonstrated participation in state and local committees of AWWA and/or WEF or similar.
· Demonstrate a sound understanding of commercial and financial issues in the winning and execution of professional services commissions.
· Hold a Professional Engineering License in California.

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco is $240,000 to $320,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco will differ.
