Arup is seeking to strengthen and grow its Water Services (Conveyance focus) capability within the Western USA. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Water Services Leader (Conveyance) to lead the Geography development and delivery of water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance engineering and advisory services to Water Sector clients. 

The role will focus on urban-scale and regional water infrastructure, supporting clients in delivering sustainable, resilient, and climate-adaptive solutions. The role will work closely with the Geography water business leader to respond to business opportunities arising from the business development work, secure work and lead delivery of the project scope.

As a leader of the engineering team, tasks will cover all aspects of the design and production of water piping, pumping systems and associated equipment and controls. The role will include reviewing / updating both hydra

 

The Opportunity

Key Tasks

       Local business planning and service development for Water Infrastructure and Conveyance Services

       Client development and relationship management with public and private sector clients

       Support to marketing, lead generation and support of proposal and pursuit activities

       Support to winning new work and securing repeat business

       Leading engineering and consulting assignments (small and large scale)

       Technical leadership in water (drinking, waste, storm) conveyance

       Integration of climate change adaptation into conveyance infrastructure planning

       Project planning, delivery and management

       Leadership of discipline project teams

       Supervision, mentoring and development of junior staff

       Report writing and preparation of technical outputs

Is this role right for you?

       Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with water specialism

       Professionally qualified and licensed engineer (PE/P.Eng or equivalent relevant to the jurisdiction)

       Minimum 15 years of relevant experience

Experience and capability in:

       Water resources and municipal infrastructure engineering documentation

       Stormwater management solutions for urban and land development

       Hydrologic and hydraulic modelling including water conveyance

       Watershed and flood risk planning

       Green Infrastructure and Low Impact Development solutions

       Climate adaptation integration and mitigation strategies

Additional skills and attributes:

       Ability to consistently deliver projects within schedule and budget

       Track record winning repeat business

       Strong communication and teamwork skills

       Ability to work in multidisciplinary environments

       Understanding of commercial and financial aspects of projects

       Interest in sustainable and resilient infrastructure

       Self-motivated with leadership capability

San Francisco Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco is $200,000 to $250,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco will differ.
