Arup is seeking an accomplished Water Lead for the North with a wealth of experience in various facets of the water cycle, encompassing potable water supply, wastewater treatment, stormwater systems, and a comprehensive understanding of the economics within the water industry. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in advancing Arup's capabilities within its Civil and Water discipline, enhancing our relevance to water-focused clients.

Core Capabilities:


As a Water Business Leader in Canada at Arup, you will be expected to bring extensive expertise in the following areas:
•    Comprehensive Water Cycle Knowledge: Demonstrate proficiency in water catchments, linear conveyance and distribution systems, stormwater control, flood mitigation, and associated water/wastewater/stormwater works.
•    Client Engagement and Relationship Building: Utilize your knowledge and experience to establish and nurture client relationships, translating design issues into meaningful discussions that contribute to securing and delivering projects across advisory, consultancy, and engineering domains.
•    Project Management: Leverage your relevant water consulting or professional engineering experience in an engineering project management role, to oversee and lead significant professional services commissions in the water sector.

Key Responsibilities:


•    Canada specific water business planning
•    Client development
•    Marketing and lead generation
•    Winning new and securing repeat work
•    Delivery of successful and repeat water project commissions.
•    Planning and management of engineering projects
•    Engineering leadership including providing project quality assurance support
•    Report writing
•    Project staff supervision

Qualifications and Requirements:


•    Bachelor’s degree in water-focused engineering or science.
•    A post-engineering management degree would be advantageous.
•    Possess a minimum of 15 years of relevant water consulting or professional engineering experience and 5 years leadership and management of professional services.
•    Proven client-facing business experience with established local client relationships in the water sector.
•    A track record of winning and leading substantial professional services commissions in the water/wastewater sector.
•    Hold an Ontario P.Eng. license (or similar professional accreditation).
•    Actively involved in professional organizations and well-networked in the water business community in Ontario.
