We are looking for an intermediate planner/analyst to join our Transport, Logistics, and Urban Planning team in one of our offices in Canada (Toronto, Calgary, or Ottawa), delivering projects in Canada and internationally. We are seeking a versatile consultant with a strong interest in supporting the development of sustainable and equitable places.


The ~20-person Transport, Logistics, and Urban Planning Team includes transportation planners, urban planners, engineers, and consultants from a range of educational and professional backgrounds. With team members in Toronto and Montreal, we deliver projects throughout the urban infrastructure life-cycle at the site, neighbourhood, and city-wide scales, and support large projects with advice on multi-modal transportation planning, design and operations.

Current projects include:
  •  GO Expansion – ONCorr 
  •  Eglinton Crosstown West Extension 
  •  VIA High Frequency Rail
  •  Brampton Major Transit Station Areas Transport and Land Use Studies
  •  North King’s Town Secondary Plan Mobility Plan
  •  Woodbine GO station land use study

-        Contribute to research, analysis, and studies to examine the urban, transportation, and policy contexts of projects 
-        Work collaboratively with peers to define various planning and design solutions.
-        Perform analyses to support project outcomes, including reviews of census and travel data patterns, spatial analysis of transportation networks and site areas, qualitative/quantitative analysis of existing/future multi-modal transportation system performance.
-        Participate in project workshops and multi-disciplinary meetings, providing input on topics including street and station area planning, place making and usability, and rail/bus/bike/pedestrian system planning.
-        Support project design and approval processes by providing technical studies, planning context research and advice, drafting and updating reports, and coordinating responses to client feedback.
-        Prepare high-quality deliverables, including reports, presentations, and visual communications using industry standard graphic tools, presenting internally and in client-facing environments.
-        Organize your contribution to projects and support project coordination and bid development activities. 

Is this role right for you?

-        4 or more  years of professional experience in the transportation and infrastructure planning domain
-        An education background in transportation planning, traffic/transportation engineering, urban planning, spatial analysis, or similar/a combination 
-        Awareness of the local transportation and development planning history and current discourse in one or more of our Canadian office locations
-        Excellent report-writing skills, experience authoring technical reports, and the ability to communicate in a variety of formats
-        Excellent numeracy skills and an ability to leverage these skills to solve complex problems and business challenges
-        Proficiency in geospatial analysis and any GIS package
-        Experience in any quantitative analysis/simulation package applied to multimodal transportation analysis
-        Experience in any scripting package applied to spatial analysis or infrastructure planning (R, Python, FME, etc.) 
-        Experience in any 2D/3D drawing package (CAD/Sketchup/Rhino, etc.)
-        Experience providing technical training and context to peers and newer colleagues
-        Achieved or working towards a membership in a relevant professional organization
-        Expertise in ITS (intelligent transportation system), future mobility, and active travel is an asset

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $80,000 to $90,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
