Working with clients and multidisciplinary teams in Ireland and internationally, you will play a leading role in shaping the future of transport and mobility infrastructure while drawing on the expertise of Arup's global transport network. As a trusted advisor to clients and project teams, you will help develop opportunities, lead project delivery and build high-performing teams that bring together specialists from across Arup's global Transport network. Our business is entering an exciting phase of growth in Ireland, supported by significant investment in transport infrastructure and a strong pipeline of rail, aviation, roads and streets major programme opportunities.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Transport Leader to join our office in Dublin, Cork, Galway or Limerick and help lead the growth and delivery of major rail, metro and transport infrastructure projects. As Transport Leader, you will lead both the growth and delivery of Arup's business in Ireland and support the expansion of our transport activities.
You will work with transport clients and partners across rail, roads and streets, and aviation, including authorities, operators, developers, contractors and other delivery organisations. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and guide delivery in technically complex, operationally sensitive environments, helping to achieve successful project outcomes through strong collaboration and effective partnership working.
You could find yourself working on projects involving:
Large roads and streets, rail or aviation projects
Urban transit systems
Major transport interchanges
Tunnels and major underground infrastructure
Major infrastructure programmes delivered in live operational environments
As a Transport Leader at Arup, you will:
Lead multidisciplinary projects and programmes.
Act as Project Director, Project Leader and/or Design Manager on complex assignments.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with key transport clients and industry partners.
Lead strategic pursuits, bidding activities and client engagement.
Develop project delivery strategies and execution plans.
Build, structure and lead high-performing project teams.
Coordinate specialists across multiple disciplines, geographies and regions.
Support the growth of Arup's transport business in Ireland.
Help strengthen and expand relationships with our key clients.
Bring international best practice, innovation and technical excellence to Irish projects through Arup's global transport network.
Mentor and develop colleagues and future leaders.
Promote excellence in project delivery, safety, quality and collaboration.

We are looking for an experienced transport professional who combines strong leadership skills with a deep understanding of project delivery, technical excellence and business growth.
The ideal candidate will have:
Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience leading complex transport infrastructure projects and multidisciplinary teams.
Proven track record as a Project Director, Project Leader, Design Manager, Programme Manager or similar leadership role.
Experience working with operators, transport authorities, contractors or consultants.
Strong understanding of infrastructure delivery across planning, design and implementation phases.
Experience building client relationships and winning work.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to build, motivate and lead diverse project teams.
Degree in Engineering, Transport Planning, Construction Management or a related discipline.
Professional fluency in English.
