The Opportunity
We are seeking diverse and experienced individuals who can demonstrate transport planning, strategy and policy, low carbon transport, consultation, and project management capabilities, with an interest in new innovations in transport and mobility.
The successful candidate will become an integral part of an existing strong transport planning team in Birmingham city centre. The Transport Planning team works with a number of high-profile clients both in the UK and internationally including National Highways, Network Rail, Department for Transport, EBRD and Birmingham Airport. We offer a full suite of Transport Planning solutions to meet the existing and emerging needs of our clients. The role of digital is increasingly important to efficiently deliver clear and engaging outputs.

Is this role right for you?
Your day-to-day duties will include supporting senior management and project managers in delivering projects, while developing and maintaining positive relationships with key clients. You will identify future opportunities for new services by assisting in bids/submissions and work winning activities, taking part in business development activities to support the continued growth of the Cities, Planning and Design team.
We are looking for candidates who can work under clear instruction and independently, with experience delivering quality outputs aligned with project deadlines. In particular, you should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the private and public sector markets and be keen to develop their skills and experience in the delivery of transport planning, transport strategy and policy, low carbon and future mobility projects
Requirements:
A background in transport planning (with technical knowledge demonstrated across areas such as transport strategy and policy, transport modelling, engineering, active travel, low carbon transport and future mobility) within a multi-disciplinary environment.
Degree qualification and chartered or working towards chartership in relevant institution CIHT/ TPP/ ICE or similar.
Familiar with writing and presenting technical reports that will add value to clients.
You should have sufficient practical experience to be able to participate in meetings with transport agencies, operators, local authorities and private sector clients to demonstrate competence, understanding and a problem-solving attitude.
Understanding of developing transport assessment / transport and development impact analysis and transport commercial issues (e.g. benefits and costs of transport schemes and likely key considerations which might affect delivery).
Awareness of data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, Power BI, GIS) to interpret transport data and present findings effectively.
