Joining Arup

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We are seeking a dedicated Transport Planner to join our growing team in Jakarta. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality transport planning analysis for a wide range of projects, from toll roads and public transport systems to large-scale urban developments. Reporting to the Jakarta Transport Planning Team Leader, you will collaborate on regional projects across Southeast Asia, contributing to the planning and design of cutting-edge transport infrastructure solutions.

The Opportunity

·       Conduct detailed technical analysis to support transport infrastructure planning and development (e.g. Toll Roads, BRT, LRT, MRT).

·       Perform multimodal transport analysis for large-scale development projects (buildings, precincts, city-level planning).

·       Analyse traffic patterns and public transport systems, working closely with local and regional specialists.

·       Use transport modelling software (e.g., VISUM, VISSIM, EMME) to conduct simulations and produce results in line with industry standards.

·       Visualise data outputs and create impactful presentations and reports for clients and stakeholders.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?

·       A relevant tertiary qualification in transport planning, civil engineering, or a related field.

·       At least 2 years of experience in transport planning, public transport planning, modelling, or traffic engineering.

·       Proficiency in transport modelling software (e.g., VISUM, EMME, VISSIM, SIDRA) and knowledge of Indonesian transport regulations and standards.

·       Experience in preparing transport masterplans and working with both strategic and microsimulation modelling.

·       Strong communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, with the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
