As the LATAM Sustainable Investment Advisory Leader you will be responsible for overseeing an established team of environmental and social specialists, growing the team’s business by developing and selling new related service offerings to clients, and coordinating with regional Arup leaders on joint initiatives. This is a strategic role that is essential to expanding Arup’s influence on sustainable development in Latin American Counties.

The Opportunity

·       Support existing team managers to ensure continued quality work and career growth opportunities as the team grows

·       Proactively engage clients to understand their needs and how Arup can support, provide solutions, then follow up with proposals and work winning

·       Identify, develop, and secure new work from project developers and/or private equity funds that builds on the skills and experience of the team, e.g., sustainability, biodiversity, socioeconomic analysis, and carbon credit market consulting, ESG assurance and verification, ESG strategy and transformation, as well as expand the sectors of work we perform for multilateral banks (currently transportation and renewable energy)

·       Develop annual business plans and goals for the team, including setting budgets, identifying strategic investments in training, hiring, and technology

·       Speaking at industry events and publishing thought leadership that raises Arup’s profile in LACs and globally

·       Training and mentoring team staff and other in the Bogota office to be more effective consultants and advisors

 

Does this role inspire you?

·        Bachelors degree in related fields such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, Economics, or any other degree with focused experience in sustainability and ESG frameworks.

·       15 years of related and certified professional experience

·       Proven management, strategic planning, and leadership skills commensurate with the role

·       Demonstrated professional working experience and network in LAC region commensurate with the role

·       Bilingual in English and Spanish

 

Preferred:

·       Masters Degree in related fields such as environmental engineering, environmental management, environmental and natural resources policy, environmental science, sustainability, sustainable management, business administration, economics, finance

·       Professional Certificate in ESG-related concepts such as ISSB, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, LCAs

·       Experience working with multilateral banks (e.g. IFC, IDB, CAF, etc) and their sustainability frameworks

·       Proficient in Portuguese
