Sustainability Consultant - Climate Advisory

We provide advice, design and planning support to major clients in a variety of built environment sectors (e.g. buildings, transport, healthcare, and many more.
We are seeking a sustainability consultant with experience in climate change mitigation and climate change adaptation (additional experience in circular economy and nature positive is an advantage).
The focus of this role is to provide services and support in the areas of Climate Policy and Institutional Development, Sector Transformation and Market Creation, Emissions Modelling / Decarbonisation and Climate Risk Assessment and Resilience.
The Opportunity
- Conduct analysis using both qualitative and quantitative methods, leveraging best practices and technical assessments such as emissions modelling, climate scenario modelling, and hazard and risk maps
- Engage in stakeholder consultations across various sectors including government, private, and financial, to gather comprehensive evidence
- Synthesize inputs into concise, evidence-based findings that cover policy, technical, market, and financial topics
- Develop strategies, frameworks, tools, technical guidance, roadmaps, and policy recommendations aimed at decarbonisation and climate resilience
- Prepare detailed project reports for clients, summarizing climate and sustainability analysis and outcomes at different levels such as project, programming, buildings, city, sector, and national settings, and provide strategic advice on best actions
- Provide sustainability expertise to multidisciplinary teams to drive and embed low carbon and climate resilience strategies and outcomes

Is this role right for you?
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Science, Management Economics, or Planning
- Possess 2 to 3 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities
- Have a background in consulting projects related to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Additional experience in circular economy and nature-positive initiatives is preferred
- Demonstrate experience in consulting projects at various levels, including project, programming, buildings, city, sector, and national scales
- Show knowledge or interest in working within developing and emerging market contexts
- Exhibit strong technical analysis skills, such as emissions modelling, life cycle assessment, and climate risk assessment
- Have a good working knowledge of the buildings and infrastructure life cycle. Basic understanding of other economic or social sectors, such as manufacturing or healthcare, is preferred
