Based in the Midlands, our Building Engineering group is undergoing significant growth and development as it continues to win major work in the industrial, education and commercial sectors as well as low- and zero-carbon buildings.  We continue to implement and move towards an integrated building information modelling service (BIM) in order to better serve our clients while continuing to drive improvements in our design quality and remain at the cutting edge of the market. The diversity of workload and strength of client links has meant strong growth over the last year and a need for some new team members.

The team have some exciting schemes including the New Sandwell Aquatics Centre and also the Alexander Stadium which will be used as major international competition venues as well as for the local community, and Paradise Birmingham in the city centre.

We have an opportunity for a Structural Engineer who is close to chartership and is looking for technically challenging work on cutting – edge projects; to join our established Building Engineering Team in the Midlands.

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer with excellent design, technical, and software skills who enjoys working collaboratively in multi-professional design teams, taking responsibility for projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.

You will be degree / masters qualified and on your way to being chartered.

You will be committed to your own professional development and looking for challenging work to develop your engineering skill.

Skills and Capabilities

  • Demonstrate a passion for structural engineering, a flair for structural engineering design, and a practical understanding of buildings.
  • Be experienced in working in a multidisciplinary team finding holistic building design solutions.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to communicate through sketching, drawing, presentations and in writing.
  • An interest and passion for creative thinking.
  • An interest in coding or programming to solve engineering problems.
  • An interest in low-carbon and zero-carbon design.
