We are currently seeking applications from interested graduates to join our Advisory and Digital Services Teamwork placement programme.

The Opportunity

Arup Ireland are seeking talented students to join our Dublin team. We look for students who are ready to jump into the professional world; diverse individuals with inquisitive minds and a desire to challenge. You will work alongside skilled professionals and contribute to the success of real projects. 


You will also enjoy learning sessions with technical experts within your team, working on local projects and all kinds of social events. You will be working with a team of Strategic Advisory Services professionals from various offices.   


Typical work that the Strategic Advisory Team is involved in includes the following: 

Foresight - Deploying a set of approaches, tools and skills that help organisations explore, envision, and shape the future. 

Integrated Cities and Planning - Understanding opportunities for Arup to influence the move towards climate-neutral and socially inclusive cities   

Transport Advisory - Defining and planning how services and/or infrastructure can connect people to opportunity most effectively and efficiently. 

Organisational Change - Bringing together experts in strategic change and business psychology to help clients respond to change and maximise their people’s capability and performance. 

Finance & Economics - Demonstrating the financial and economic benefits of our project work and supporting our clients through the appraisal process by prioritising the right initiatives. 

Your responsibilities:

  • Support turning technical recommendations into transportation plans and project deliverables.
  • Practice creative applications of technology to develop design solutions.
  • Utilise communication skills for report writing and visual representations.
  • Attend and participate in meetings.
  • Be involved in discussions with team members to gain knowledge & experience.
  • Undertake analytical research to develop, document and present concepts.
  • Give structure to ideas – lots of “taking a first pass” at spreadsheets, reports and analyses for discussion later rather than instruction; and 
  • Work on defined tasks under supervision. 

We seek the following qualifications, attributes and skills:

Be currently studying for a bachelor’s or postgraduate level qualification in a relevant discipline, including, but not limited to: 

  • Data Analytics or statistics 
  • Economics 
  • Finance 
  • Law  
  • Business 
  • Engineering  
  • Management  


Preferred Experience and Knowledge: 

  • Strong attention to detail  
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills  
  • Strong report-writing and general communication skills 
  • Solid planning, analytical and organisation skills 
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges 
  • Ability to engage with clients and partners in the development of project requirements
