We’re looking for a Solution Architect to join our Architecture Service within Arup. You will work at a strategic level to provide leadership in creating, maintaining and communicating the firm’s Digital Technology Strategy. You will play a key role in the firms most significant enterprise-wide digital programmes and projects to ensure that the architectures designed and delivered are aligned with its business vision and objectives.

- Accountable for the delivery of significant and complex solution architecture activities or projects.
- Represent Arup at internal and external meetings.
- Focus on the ‘big picture’ and how all the technical pieces fit together in terms of both the breadth and depth of the specific architecture domain(s) covered.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, engineers and developers to achieve design goals at an advanced level.
- Ensure designs and solutions comply with Arup Policies and Standards.
- Take ownership of preparing architectural design documents and other artifacts.
- Oversee project progress from architecture and compliance viewpoint.
- Identify architecture driven improvement to continually improve service quality and reduce costs.
Is this role right for you?
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar area.
- Relevant Solution Architecture experience within a consulting business environment.
- Proficiency in Solution Architecture modelling and diagramming software
- Relevant experience in
- architecting solutions (TOGAF a preference) with a concentrated focus on infrastructure, security, performance, scalability, and reliability.
- contributing to strategic initiatives.
- architecture modelling tools, techniques and processes, and an awareness of relevant industry techniques.
- senior stakeholder management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both non-technical and technical audiences managing successful communications with governance boards and stakeholders.
Ability to influence others to consider your point of view and gain support and agreement for plans, changes and new approaches.
Ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, gain their confidence and persuade them to cooperate with initiatives where required.
- Self-starter, pragmatic, flexible and comfortable with ambiguity, able to align business and DTG vision to deliver clarity.
