Arup’s Brisbane office is seeking to hire a Senior Water Engineer to join our Water Resources Sub-Team. This role aims to support our growing water business and diversification of service offering, and will focus on the delivery of water infrastructure projects across Queensland and the wider region. Alternatively, there is potential for this role to be located in our Sunshine Coast office.
What will I do?
• Lead and develop proposals and tenders.
• Build and effectively manage client relationships, and influence, differentiate and develop market opportunities.
• Be an active participant in broadening Arup’s global water skills network, bringing global expertise to local projects, sharing lessons and contributing to the global knowledge base.
• Attend relevant industry events and conferences to develop Arup’s local industry profile.
• On a day-to-day basis, you may provide engineering services across the planning, feasibility, design and delivery stages for water and wastewater infrastructure. This will involve working across multi-disciplinary teams and geographies.
• You may be responsible for leading projects and directing the Junior team members. The ability (or wish) to act in a mentor capacity to junior team members, and to provide technical guidance is highly desirable.
What will I bring?
• Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering (civil, environmental or process) and eligibility for Engineers Australia membership, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in design, project management and implementation in your field within a consulting business environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of Hydraulic modelling (water and or wastewater) platforms (e.g., EPANet, Infoworks / Infowater (Innovyze), GEMS (Bentley) and Mike Urban (DHI) etc), but more importantly ability to interpret modelling output.
• Proficiency in the use of GIS work packages include (ArcGIS, QGIS etc).
• You will possess excellent attention to detail and you will have proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.
• Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies (such as CPEng and RPEQ) or significant credit towards eligibility for membership will be highly regarded.
