The Opportunity

We are looking for Urban Designers to join our UKIMEA team. Successful candidates will contribute to a diverse portfolio of international projects, working alongside our passionate and highly skilled team, as well as the broader expertise of Arup and our partners. Our current work spans a range of scales and sectors, including strategic growth plans, masterplanning around infrastructure investment, and the regeneration of complex urban sites. The eventual work profile will include setting up and leading the India technical team

Is this role right for you?

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Degree in Architecture (RIBA Part 2 or equivalent) with a master’s in urban design or related field.
  • 15+ years’ experience in a high-quality, design‑led practice with strong client management and project leadership
  • Proven delivery of complex projects on ground, leading multi‑disciplinary teams with commercial awareness.
  • Highly skilled in presentations, storytelling, stakeholder engagement, and visual communication.
  • Strong design capability with the ability to develop, refine, and innovate concepts independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and inspire teams while upholding high professional standards.
  • Experience in business development, including bids, cost planning, resourcing, and global coordination.
  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, MS Office, 3D modelling, graphics, and GIS.
  • Excellent English communication; Rhino/Grasshopper/Lumion/Enscape and certifications are an advantage.
