Shape a Transaction Due Diligence future with purpose at Arup in Germany, in Europe and on a global scale.

Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach have set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

Our Property Advisory Services team supports clients throughout the real estate lifecycle with strategic and technical expertise. As a Senior Consultant in our Technical Due Diligence and Transactions team, you will play a key role in enabling informed investment decisions and in shaping the built environment with impact.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Technical Due Diligence & Transactions team in Berlin, Germany. This role focuses on the analysis of real estate portfolios and the technical advisory aspects of complex transactions. The ideal candidate combines a sound understanding of building performance and repositioning strategies with a market-oriented mindset.

You will lead multidisciplinary workstreams and advise clients on investment strategies for diverse asset types, including commercial buildings, properties, pharma campuses, hotels, retail and other businesses. You will support clients in unlocking value through intelligent reuse, circular strategies, and holistic asset evaluation.

As a [Job Title] at Arup, you will:

•    Coordinate and deliver technical due diligence and portfolio analysis across asset classes and geographies – Europe-wide and globally
•    Assess existing buildings - often complex, aging, or specialized and develop tailored advisory outputs that link technical condition with business objectives, (e.g. re-positioning advisory)
•    Lead the integration of technical disciplines (architecture, MEP, sustainability, structural, fire safety) into cohesive transaction strategies.
•    Provide strategic input on repositioning, lifecycle extension, and circularity—supporting clients in aligning asset decisions with ESG and decarbonization goals
•    Engage with clients including investors, fund managers, operators, and developers—contributing to strategic conversations at asset and portfolio level
•    Support business development and contribute to thought leadership through practice

Does this role inspire you?

We're looking for someone who is passionate about leading large-scaled projects and building long-lasting relationships. We also value:

•   9-10 years of experience in the technical advisory or consulting side of real estate transactions, ideally including portfolio-level work and operational assets
•    Familiarity with repositioning, adaptive reuse, and circular economy approaches in the built environment
•    Solid knowledge of existing building performance and refurbishment strategies across a wide range of property types
•    Ability to interpret technical risk and opportunity in the context of investment decisions
•    Fluency in English and German; proficiency in further languages is a strong advantage
•    Strong interdisciplinary coordination and leadership skills, particularly in managing external specialists and complex workflows.
•    A university degree in architecture, engineering, or a related technical field. Other degrees like finance, M&A are welcome, but only with strong technical understanding
