About you

Arup have an amazing opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our vibrant and enthusiastic WA Infrastructure Group in Perth. As a key and valued member, you will be responsible for managing and delivering sustainability requirements across complex delivery projects, largely infrastructure / road projects. You will bring your sustainability knowledge and expertise, commercial acumen and collaboration skills to this exciting and pivotal role. 

Profile for success:

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering, Sustainability Management or similar area.
  • At least 10 years’ experience with 6 years relevant industry experience in sustainability specifically. Preference is for experience in consulting.
  • Experience of ISCA Ver 2.0 rating tool and experience in using the tool to rate infrastructure projects in Western Australia.
  • Experience with delivering sustainability scopes of work, especially on complex delivery projects (largely infrastructure).
  • Strong technical, analytical, design and project management skills, with experience delivering sustainability projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading Infrastructure Sustainability ratings through the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia.
  • Developing commercial awareness with experience of liaising with and managing clients and budgets
  • Preference for Main Roads WA experience (or a government organisation)

About the role

Arup is a global firm of designers, engineers, planners and business consultants providing a diverse range of professional services to clients around the world. The Senior Sustainability Consultant is a pivotal role within the Perth Infrastructure team and will have a strong connection to the broader Sustainability Team across Infrastructure, Buildings and Advisory groups.  This exciting role will involve managing and delivering sustainability requirements across infrastructure and other projects, in particular road projects. This position will enable you to contribute your expertise to both Australian and international projects.  

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Work as part of a team across the infrastructure team, with a focus on sustainability.  
  • Coordinate or support the delivery of high-quality ISCA Infrastructure Sustainability ratings for a variety of infrastructure projects.
  • Be responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budgets and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets in your own area.
  • Author or review technical reports spanning a variety of areas related to sustainability.
  • You will be responsible for the development of others, and provide guidance, training and feedback.
  • Work within a team to develop an approach to business development and winning new work.
  • You will represent your team or group at external meetings and you may be involved in developing events, activities and internal projects.
