About this role
A Senior Structural Engineer’s key purpose is to lead a team of structural engineers in analyzing, designing, and delivering structural engineering designs on large building projects in a way that meets client expectations.

What will I do?

  • You will work without supervision, referring up as necessary.  In achieving this you will be responsible for meeting deadlines, monitoring budges and controlling expenditure to meet financial targets in your own area;
  • You will represent Arup at internal and external events and you may be responsible for designing and delivering events, activities and projects which impact the business;
  • You may be responsible for the performance and development of others through providing guidance, training, direction and feedback.
  • Provide detailed design work across a broad range of projects within structural engineering;
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of tender submissions and presentations;
  • Prepare project reports summarising key assumptions, design methodologies, and conclusions and recommendations;

What will I bring?

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Structural Engineering or similar area;
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Buildings Structures within a consulting business environment.  
  • Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership;
  • Experience in managing key projects, including the supervision of multi-disciplinary project teams where appropriate.
  • Keen understanding of “customer” needs (both internal and external), and the issues which may impact on maintaining effectiveness within a commercial environment.
