As part of our multidisciplinary team, you’ll contribute to diverse projects across Spain and beyond, collaborating with national and international teams.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Structural Engineer who is passionate about challenging design problems and has a strong interest in innovation, optimisation and high-quality delivery.
As a Senior Structural Engineer at Arup, you will:
- Lead and deliver structural design packages for complex infrastructure projects taking technical ownership of allocated elements.
- Work closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, high‑quality engineering solutions.
- Perform advanced structural and numerical analyses, producing calculations, drawings, specifications, and clear technical reports.
- Manage allocated work packages across multiple projects and proposals, ensuring technical quality, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Support, mentor, and technically guide junior colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Contribute to technical excellence, digital innovation, and knowledge sharing within Arup’s global structural and bridges and civil structures community.
Does this role inspire you?
We value:
- A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
- 8-10 years’ experience in structural design on medium to large-scale infrastructure projects in Spain or across Europe, including underground structures.
- Experience in using Eurocodes on a daily basis.
- Strong experience in structural and numerical analysis using industry‑standard software.
- Solid engineering judgement with excellent planning, organisational, and time‑management skills.
- Strong interest in digital engineering and BIM, including the ability to coordinate BIM and digital workflows for modelling and drawing delivery.
- Knowledge of Sofistik would be a significant advantage.
- Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced Spanish and English language is a must, other capabilities such as German, Italian are more than welcome.
