The Opportunity

This is your chance to step beyond traditional design and make a tangible impact. As a Senior Structural Engineer in our Madrid team, you will not only lead the technical delivery of iconic projects but also help shape their direction. You will have the opportunity to work with renowned experts, mentor developing engineers, and collaborate in a truly multi-disciplinary environment to deliver holistic and ambitious design solutions. As a Senior Structural Engineer at Arup, you will:

  • Lead and mentor: Guide and inspire project teams, taking responsibility for their technical output and fostering their professional growth.
  • Drive technical delivery: Lead the design process from concept to completion, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, innovative structural design packages for a diverse range of significant building projects.
  • Champion digital innovation: Utilise and promote the use of advanced structural analysis programs and parametric tools (like Python and Grasshopper) to push the boundaries of design efficiency and creativity.
  • Secure exciting work: Play a key role in our success by contributing your technical expertise to project bids and proposals, helping us win and deliver the most interesting and challenging projects.

 

Does this role inspire you?

  • We're looking for an engineer who is passionate about creating elegant, sustainable structural solutions and leading teams to deliver excellence. We also value:
  • 6-8 years of experience as a structural designer on significant building projects, with proven team leadership or mentoring skills.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering (Master's in Structural Engineering preferred) and Chartered status with a relevant institution.
  • Expertise in BIM methodology (Revit) and parametric design tools (Rhino, Grasshopper), with programming skills (Python) being a significant advantage.
  • Proficiency in the use of advanced structural analysis programs.
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential.
