The Senior Security Consultant (Security Technology) is to provide specialist electronic security engineering and consultancy services for the design of integrated electronic security systems such as video surveillance, electronic access control, intrusion detection etc., employing world’s best-practice solutions in bringing commercially focused security solutions to our clients’ business activities. The role operates primarily within the Singapore marketplace and will contribute to the other services provided by Arup’s Resilience, Security & Risk (RSR) practice within the Australasia Region.


The Opportunity

  • Provide protective security engineering (electronic and protective) design. You will understand the design process and the approach to formulate security requirements for the design of an integrated electronic security systems (with components such as video surveillance, electronic access control, intrusion detection etc.).
  • Understand the design process and the approach to formulate security requirements for the design of an integrated electronic security systems (with components such as video surveillance, electronic access control, intrusion detection etc.). 
  • Have knowledge of IT networks that supports the integrated electronic security systems, understand the relevant local codes and regulations that can affect the design of security systems and concepts to turn it into design with the capability to provide protective security engineering (electronic and protective) design.
  • Prepare project reports for clients summarizing key issues and strategically advising on best outcomes and deliver design documentation, such as drawings, schedules, technical specifications.
  • Review submissions (such as drawings, materials) and installation details from contractors/integrators during construction/implementation stage; ensure they are in accordance with design intent and/or specifications, assist with the development of an efficient and commercially viable Resilience, Security and Risk practice as well as providing detailed technical input across a broad range of projects within the physical security area.

Is this role right for you?

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in electrical or electronic engineering or similar area.
  • At least 6 years of relevant industry experience in electronic security system design within a consulting business environment or a security systems integrator.
    • Good understanding of latest security technologies (electronic and physical security).
    • Preferably membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership. 
    • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines – and Arup’s related procedures including OH&S with effective written communication and report writing skills
