We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with experience in industrial projects.

Arups presence in Scandinavia consolidated with the opening of an office in Copenhagen in 2012, working on the Cityringen Metro in Copenhagen. It is a growing office of 80 staff, a mix of both Danish and other nationalities. From here we work on many exciting projects across Denmark, Scandinavia and internationally.

Our PPM team is at the forefront of managing programmes and projects for our esteemed clients. Our Programme and Project Management (PPM) team works within a collaborative, diverse environment, where members’ unique background and dynamic energy contribute to delivering the best services possible to our clients.  

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a high-calibre and experienced Client-side Project Manager with a technical background in industrial engineering or architecture. The role includes a substantial time on the client’s premises located in Lund - Sweden.

 

As a Senior Project Manager at Arup, you will:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of client-side project management services from user gathering phase through to construction and handover.
  • Direct client interface and stakeholder management for gathering user requirements and communicating those with design team.
  • Be responsible for creating and maintaining project schedule, procurement strategy, risk management, project budget.
  • Manage delivery of projects ensuring that schedule, budget, procurement and quality expectations are met and project related risks are identified and managed.
  • Lead the effective and efficient delivery of commissions, managing the performance of multidisciplinary project teams consisting of both internal and external project team resources.
  • Build and maintain long-term, trusted advisor relationships with the client.
  • Deliver work to a high standard of client satisfaction and profitably for Arup.
  • Oversee project delivery, internal coordination, and commercial management of projects.
  • Mentor and support PPM staff and junior colleagues, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous growth.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about project management and delivering sustainable outcomes for clients. We also value:

  • A bachelor’s degree in architecture / civil / structural / building services / electrical / mechanical engineering
  • Project management experience in industrial projects that includes drafting and administering of design and construction contracts and leading teams on design and construction of building programmes and projects.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with at least 5 years in managing new build and refurbishment construction matters; candidates with less experience might be considered for position of Project Manager.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken Swedish and English, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels.
  • Site construction supervision or management experience will be an advantage.
  • Experience in client-facing roles to deliver project management services.
  • Strong client and stakeholder relationship management skills and experience, self-motivated with good interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation and influencing.
  • Excellent commercial and contractual awareness and project management services in the built environment, across the typical project lifecycle.
  • Familiar with project management processes, systems and tools and strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience working closely with design teams to develop and deliver design solutions that meet the client’s brief.
  • Leadership and team management skills, including coaching, conflict resolution, setting clear goals, and driving successful delivery.
