The Opportunity  

We are looking for candidates with experience of Process engineering design on multi-disciplinary projects within the clean energy sector. With our depth and breadth of skills Our team is currently involved in many exciting projects across the Energy, Water and Resources sectors.  Whilst the team is based in Leeds, much of our work is involves supporting projects across our global business integrating with teams in our offices. 

 

Is this role right for you? 

As a senior engineer you are likely to have experience of developing concept designs and FEED studies, and experience of working in or leading process engineering teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget.  

You will co-ordinate the work of others and liaise with engineers of other disciplines, imparting your knowledge and experiences. You will be working in highly regulated sectors, working within a gated design and project delivery process. You will be involved in the development of process data sheets: pressure relief valves, control valves, pumps, etc. and the designing of utility systems.  You will also be involved in the report writing and the development of fee proposals, feasibility studies of plant operating and capital costs. We would expect you to have a practical understanding of how your designs will be implemented, and experience of digital approaches to solve our problems including the relevant current analysis and design software. 

We operate an enviable graduate training scheme which is accredited by the IChemE and as a senior engineer you will be expected to join the mentoring programme and help to shape our future pipeline of process engineers. 

We are looking for candidates with experience of Process engineering design on multi-disciplinary projects.  The successful candidates are likely to have experience of the following;  Renewable energy generation; Carbon capture and storage/reuse technologies; Hydrogen generation via innovative methods; Downstream processing of hydrogen to e-fuels; Ammonia production and storage; Gas separation systems;  Mass flow energy storage; Process safety DSEAR, COMAH, SIL; Flammable gas handling and compression;  Cryogenics and gas liquifaction; AutoCAD Plant3D; Sustainable and zero carbon approaches to Process design. 

We are seeking the following skills and experience;

  • Use of AspenTech modelling software
  • Developing concept designs and FEED studies 
  • Experience of working in or leading process engineering teams to ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines and within budget 
  • Development of process data sheets: pressure relief valves, control valves, pumps, etc. and Acting as the process designer in the HAZOP teams 
  • Chairing HazOp studies Resolution of technical matters and ideally experience working in highly regulated sectors 
  • Development of fee proposals 
  • Creation of PID’s, plant layouts, GA and Creation of energy and mass balances 
  • Development of feasibility studies and plant operating and capital costs 

 

In addition to your technical skills, we need people who have the following attributes 

  • Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively with colleagues, and with external collaborators 
  • Experience of digital approaches to solve our problems including the relevant current analysis and design software
  •  A good understanding of CDM, and how we can help the health safety and wellbeing of those affected by our work
