Join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer specialising in data centre projects, where you will not only lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge mechanical solutions working with a diverse range of glodatrabal data centre operators. You will have the opportunity to take on broader leadership roles. As a seasoned professional working in the field, you will spearhead collaborative efforts to develop detailed design models and simulations, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency in HVAC systems tailored for data centre environments. Beyond this, you'll have the opportunity to lead MEP initiatives and wider project endeavours.

This role offers ambitious candidates the chance to not only excel in mechanical engineering but also to expand their leadership capabilities and make a significant impact on projects of varying scale and complexity in the fast paced evolving data centre sector.

The Opportunity 

•    Lead collaborative efforts within the team to develop detailed design models and simulations for mechanical and HVAC systems in data centre projects, utilising advanced modelling techniques and industry best practices.
•    Spearhead the design of complex mechanical systems tailored specifically for data centre environments, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency in cooling.
•    Drive the development of innovative mechanical designs for HVAC systems incorporating cutting-edge technologies to meet the unique demands of data centre infrastructure.
•    Proactively manage project activities to ensure alignment with strategic and commercial objectives and effectively address any significant conflicts or challenges, leveraging extensive expertise to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
•    Assume primary responsibility for designated segments of design projects, ensuring adherence to rigorous quality standards and precision in execution, while representing the team in key internal and client-facing meetings to provide expert insights and recommendations.

Is this role right for you? 

We are looking for a candidate who:

Is a Chartered Engineer (or within 6–12 months of achieving it) in Building Services. (CIBSE / IMechE) and
•    Has significant experience in Mechanical Engineering within a consulting business environment. 
•    Experience across all data centre design and construction stages, including cooling solutions, PUE/WUE efficiency, resilience/TIER levels, and testing/commissioning.
•    Proficiency in relevant software including design and energy modelling tools.
•    Experience in leading the development and implementation of Mechanical Engineering solutions across a range of projects.
•    Strong technical expertise in Mechanical Engineering principles and practices
