Join our London multidiciplinary design team as a Principal Electrical Engineer which specialises in SIT projects globally placing innovation, sustainability, decarbonisation and excellence at the heart of our designs. You will not only lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge mechanical solutions. Beyond this, you'll have the opportunity to lead MEP initiatives and wider project endeavours.
Our projects need to be part of the transition to net-zero carbon and increasingly we see electrical engineering sitting at the heart of how that transition can be achieved. We are looking for a candidate who currently acts as an electrical discipline lead who is looking to continue to deliver projects whilst developing into a technical specialist or leadership position.
Your strategic mindset and ability to effectively manage project activities will be paramount in driving success and delivering exceptional results. This role offers ambitious candidates the chance to not only excel in electrical engineering but also to expand their leadership capabilities and make a significant impact on projects of varying scale and complexity in the fast-paced SIT sectors.
The Opportunity
• As a Principal Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the production of the electrical and MEP designs on your projects and as such will be accountable both to project leaders and the electrical discipline within the business. You will take responsibility for projects from inception to completion to achieve outstanding results.
• In this role you will have the opportunity to act as Project Manager, responsible for the resourcing, commercial delivery and success of the project.
• Drive the development of innovative designs for electrical systems incorporating cutting-edge technologies to meet the unique demands of SIT buildings.
• Proactively manage project activities to ensure alignment with strategic and commercial objectives and effectively address any significant conflicts or challenges, leveraging extensive expertise to provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Assume primary responsibility for the electrical design on our projects, ensuring adherence to rigorous quality standards and precision in execution, while representing the team in key internal and client-facing meetings to provide expert insights and recommendations.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking for a candidate who:
• Is a Chartered Engineer (or within 6–12 months of achieving it) in Building Services. (CIBSE / IET)
• Has significant experience in development and implementation of Electrical Engineering solutions across a range of highly serviced buildings, such as hospitals, laboratories, and data centres.
• Has an inquisitive nature and desire to investigate and research new opportunities, ways of working and technologies that enhance our engineering offering.
• Proficiency in relevant software including design and modelling tools.
• Is an enthusiastic Principal Engineer with the ability to form and nurture relationships with clients through good communication and influencing skills.
• The ability to delegate tasks to more junior members of the team and mentor their development.
• Strong technical expertise in Electrical Engineering principles and practices.
