About you

Arup have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic Senior Pavement Asset Management Engineer to join our assessment management team in Brisbane. As a valued member, you will develop organisation wide strategic asset management plans and undertake pavement condition assessments. You will bring your technical skills and expertise, project management and collaboration skills, to a portfolio of varied and exciting civil infrastructure projects. 

Profile for success: 

  • Recognised relevant graduate qualifications in Civil.
  • Relevant industry experience (bridge design preferable) in Civil Engineering and Project Management.
  • At least 3-4 years’ experience of working on pavements asset management projects.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in pavement, investigation, design and construction
  • Proven track record in the field of pavement design and experience across a range of medium to large scale projects. 
  • Experience of leading teams on multi-disciplinary projects.

About the role

As a world leader in its field, Arup offers the full spectrum of consulting services including specialisations in a number of highly technical areas such as pavements.  As part of the asset management team, the Senior Pavement Engineer will deliver asset management projects related to civil infrastructure. You will also be involved in coordinating and managing bids associated with asset management projects, and with active business development and structured client pursuits. Travel to Arup offices within Australia and New Zealand maybe required on occasion.
In this role, you will:

  • Be involved in project management of projects focussed on asset management (strategic planning and implementation (pavements asset condition audits). This will include coordination of technical documentation & cost estimates, tender submissions, project scheduling and meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • Develop organisation wide strategic asset management plans (in line with ISO 55000) and create a clear line of sight with downstream asset management plans for pavements assets. 
  • Undertake Pavement Condition Assessments.
  • Communicate with the Arup Engineers, Client and the Project Engineer to understand the project requirements and develop project specific solutions.
  • Carry out research and investigations to develop a clear understanding of the condition of existing pavements, and determine requirements for new pavements at the project site.
  • Plan, specify and manage pavements investigations.
  • Develop and implement site safety management plans covering site investigation works.
  • Collate and analyse field and laboratory data and carry out analyses related to pavement design.
  • Undertake analysis and prepare pavement design reports, specifications and drawings; and
  • Project manage multidisciplinary projects by coordinating teams across multiple Arup offices.
  • Work with the digital analytics team to integrate AI/ML concepts into delivery of pavement projects.
