The Opportunity:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our established and growing Offshore design team in our London office. You will work with dynamic and vibrant colleagues spread across a range of disciplines including seismic engineering, structural engineering, nautical engineering, and maritime engineering to deliver a wide range of services We are looking to build their offshore capability to support a growing portfolio of projects related to the energy transition, including wind, CCUS/hydrogen, interconnectors, and geological disposal facilities (GDF) for radioactive waste. the candidate must be able to communicate, unlock reporting, and have a strong design focus and monitoring ability. The role is open to remote working for a couple of days a week and you can apply later for flexible work. Duties will include:

As a senior engineer, you will be supporting, mentoring, and managing junior staff, assisting with their development, and ensuring delivery on niche projects.  You will work on and manage projects focusing on the energy and infrastructure sectors. You will collaborate and support a range of disciplines including seismic engineering, structural engineering, nautical engineering, and maritime engineering to deliver a wide range of services.  

You will also use these skills to characterize site conditions, design and analyse offshore foundations, and plan onshore and offshore site investigations. You will plan, manage, supervise, and interpret ground investigations and laboratory test results.

Desirable skills

  • Strong geotechnical design and strong offshore bridges/structures experience. 
  • Analytical skills, you will be able to prepare and present your work in reports or client-facing meetings clearly and concisely.
  • Communicative and engaging, you will be able to relay critical structural and seismic information to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors and understanding of Geotechnics and dynamic loading.
  • Experience in the use of industry-standard numerical modelling software such as FLAC, LS-DYNA, and PLAXIS modelling dynamic soil-structure interaction problems.

Qualifications

Education MSc /Doctorate
