Senior Lighting Designer

The Opportunity
We're seeking a Senior Lighting Designer for our Istanbul office to strengthen our Lighting Team for local and international projects.
As a Senior Lighting Designer at Arup, you will:
Supervise lighting design project teams to develop creative and client responsive design solutions,
Work with other teams within Arup for project generation and design as needed,
Mentor design staff at all phases of their career,
Lead lighting design only projects with high quality, design forward design solutions,
Lead collaborative design driven process for developing inspirational and technically sound solutions,
Prepare lighting concept boards and lighting layouts in Revit/AutoCAD,
Produce lighting fixture schedules, lighting specification packages, control layouts and sequence schedules,
Conduct lighting photometric calculations with Dialux Evo,
Coordinate lighting details,
Review lighting submittals and prior approval packages,
Maintain/develop department standards.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about work on a variety of prestigious projects in Türkiye and overseas. We also value:
- Master's degree in architectural Lighting Design from reputable universities,
- Experienced in an independent lighting consultancy at least 7 years with an understanding in lighting design across architectural, interior, landscape, and urban design projects,
- Experienced in street lighting and urban scale lighting projects,
- Comprehensive knowledge of lighting related National/International Codes and Standards,
- Advanced knowledge in Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, and MS
- Knowledge in Daylight Design and Radiance and skills in 3D modelling software,
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit,
- Excellent command of English both written and verbal,
- Working experience in multinational and English-speaking environment,
- The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment,
- Ability to interface and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams,
- Effective communication and presentation skills,
- No travel restrictions (national & international),
- Excellent organization skills, attention to detail and superb ability to multi-task,
- Strong sensibility and appreciation for design communication,
- Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects,
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.
