The Opportunity
You will be part of the Knowledge and Library Services Faculty within Arup University which shapes and promotes practices, tools and knowledge imparting behaviours that enable the business to deliver excellence on every project. You will play a pivotal role in implementing a new model for enabling Arup’s Skills Networks to meet their objectives through effective and impactful Knowledge Management processes, as part of our global Skills Programme.
The successful candidate will work with the Global Knowledge Manager to manage, deliver and contribute to a variety of projects across the knowledge landscape that will look to achieve firm wide impact through behavioural change, process improvement, and global system development.
The Role
In this role, you will assist the Global Knowledge Manager in the design, delivery, promotion, and ongoing enhancement of knowledge activities and services that align with the Firm’s strategic goals. You will provide expert advice on knowledge management (KM) strategies, tools, processes, and methods within Arup. A key part of the role involves fostering strong relationships with Arup University’s global and regional teams and contributing to the implementation of a new programme aimed at empowering Skills Networks through effective KM practices. Leveraging your interest in knowledge management and AI, you will identify and exploit opportunities to improve content creation, findability, and usability. Partnership with senior principals will be key to appreciate their priorities and select appropriate KM models to enhance their practices. You will steer and deliver bespoke initiatives that address the specific needs of each Skills Network and advocate best practices in content accessibility and use. Project management assignments include defining scope, deliverables, timelines, resources, and risks, while also ensuring consistent and high-quality documentation aligned with best practices. Additionally, you will promote the ongoing development of Arup’s knowledge tools, provide training and user assistance on systems such as Arup People and the Expertise Matrices, and create clear, user-focused guidance on KM tools to maximize their impact and relevance across the organization.

Is This Role Right For You?
We are interested in the following skills:
- A minimum of 6 years’ in a knowledge or information management role.
- Qualified to a high standard level. You may also have a post graduate qualification in library, information science, knowledge management or related specialism but not crucial.
- Knowledge of document management, intranets/portals, joint and internal social media tools. Sharepoint and Microsoft CoPilot is a plus.
- Knowledge of change management communication standards and best practices
- Appreciation of promoting communities of practice to enable effective knowledge imparting and alliance among members.
- Skilled in facilitating discussions, workshops, and events that promote the exchange of ideas, best practices, and innovative solutions.
- Strong social skills, team working, communication, problem solving, presentation skills and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Skilled in writing concise and readable reports with the ability to translate complex information into clear engaging content.
- Highly motivated and passionate about providing an excellent service to others.
