Our New York team is seeking a Senior Healthcare Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary group. In this role, you will project manage the design of electrical systems for healthcare projects, including hospitals and research facilities. Key responsibilities include maintaining strong client relationships, overseeing the development of construction documents, and incorporating sustainable design solutions. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in business growth, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project excellence and commercial success.
The opportunity
- Lead the design of electrical systems on healthcare projects. Projects to include hospitals and research and university healthcare facilities.
- Maintain strong client relations as it pertains to project delivery and repeat business.
- Lead the preparation of healthcare related construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Prepare master planning and conceptual technical reports and presentation materials and incorporate sustainable designs on projects.
- Present technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences.
- Participate in local Professional Associations.
- Responsible for quality standards, commercial metrics, and client relations for projects.
- Assist in preparing fees and bid response documents.
- Assist with the construction administration of projects including review of shop drawings and submittals and responding to contractor RFIs.
- Support the Healthcare Business along with a core group of healthcare design specialists.
- Coordinate regional (North American) and global best practices and standards
The skills
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- Minimum 8 years of experience designing electrical systems in healthcare projects.
- Ability to lead the electrical discipline as lead electrical designer for projects with good organization skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working.
- Familiarity with 3D BIM software – preferably Revit MEP
Preferred Skills
- Professional Engineering License

Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in New York is $114,350 to $138,600 per year. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of New York will differ.
