We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Infrastructure Group based in our Singapore office.

About the role

The focus of this role is to provide Geotechnical consulting engineering services for Major Underground Projects to service our Singapore and SEA clients, including design & build for Contractor Clients. You will work as team and bridge between the Geotechnical Leaders and our younger geotechnical engineers to ensure quality and efficient delivery of geotechnical projects.

The scope of this role includes the following:

  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of basic geotechnical principles.
  • Responsible for high quality project reports submissions summarising key assumptions, design methodologies, and conclusions and recommendations.
  • Responsible for providing detailed design work across a broad range of projects within geotechnical engineering.
  • Responsible for preparation and delivery of tender submissions and presentations.
  • Where appropriate, liaise with other groups within the geography and more broadly across the region, providing particular expertise on geotechnical engineering as appropriate.
  • Effectively manage the time, quality and performance of allocated teams and tasks.
  • Assist in the on-going development and maintenance of quality systems within the Singapore office.
  • Be fully aware of all legislative requirements and other regulations governing Occupational Health and Safety, and assist in ensuring these are adhered to within the office and on all projects.

About you

You will have a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and will have relevant Professional Qualification in progress. Specialisation or Post-Graduate Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
You will preferably have previous experiences in Design & Build projects and will have more than 6 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical works. You will have the ability to communicate technical findings and complex geotechnical problems in a practical manner. You will also be versant in the application of best international practices and code requirements for geotechnical design relevant to geographies where applicant has operated in.  

In addition you will have the following personal attributes:

  • Awareness of commercial acumen.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills (including formal and informal presentations, written communications and reports).
  • Keen sense of maintaining high standards.
  • Keen understanding of “customer” needs (both internal and external), and the issues which may impact on maintaining effectiveness within a commercial environment
  • Ability to relate and work well with people at all levels within the team and within the wider office, as well as externally with clients
  • Ability to maintain personal effectiveness, team and client relationships, both under normal circumstances, and at times of significant pressure
  • Ability to maintain motivation and manage the output of project team members, including the ability to be proactive, but tactful, in ensuring others within the team meet deadlines and other expectations
  • Able to effectively manage workload even when demands are significant.
