About this role
Arup offers a comprehensive consultancy service for all types of Geotechnical projects across the globe.  Our experience ranges from concept studies and planning through design and supervision of construction to the maintenance of completed projects.
This role will see you undertake planning and delivery of geotechnical design for major multi-disciplinary buildings and infrastructure projects, with a key focus on numerical modelling skills. You will have the ability to work collaboratively with both internal and external clients including various government departments and contractor whilst mentoring junior staff in geotechnical design and numerical analysis.  
What will I do?

• Develop, design and deliver geotechnical inputs to large, complex multidisciplinary projects.  
• Lead the technical design and coordinating people, within project timelines and in accordance with budgetary constraints. 
• Develop strong relationships with clients, industry peer groups, regulators and contractors.
• Develop strong functional working relationships across Arup region.
• Actively develops the knowledge, experience, and technical skills of others, including junior staff within the QLD geotechnical team and the Australasia Geotechnical team. 

What will I bring?

• Recognised tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, with post-graduate degree in Geotechnics preferred.
• Demonstrated significant technical experience in geotechnical numerical modelling, including the use of Plaxis 2D and 3D.
• Significant industry experience in the delivery and leading geotechnical design on large multi-disciplinary projects, within a consulting business environment.
• Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies (including Chartered Status from the Institution of Engineers Australia or equivalent) and Register Professional Engineer of Queensland.
