Our growing Digital Advisory, Software Development, Data, Geospatial team in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is seeking to recruit a Geospatial Analyst to join us! Our regional team is made up of a global group of geospatial professionals, software developers and digital consultants within Arup. We use our collective talents to incubate and deliver technology-led solutions to clients, and in doing so help transform the way that cities, buildings and physical networks are planned and delivered, to ensure a better world for all!
The opportunity
Working as part of a rapidly growing team in Toronto with a vision to become a Geospatial Centre of Excellence, you will be leading and/or delivering technical digital solutions related to environmental, planning and infrastructure aspects of local, national and international projects. You will work as part of a diverse, digitally minded team on projects of various types and scales, regularly cross-collaborating with other multidisciplinary Arup teams to help shape a better world.
- Provide technical Geospatial coordination, support and delivery of outputs related to rail, energy and infrastructure projects of various scales and types, working alongside existing geospatial and other technical specialists.
Assist with the management and coordination of project resourcing for geospatial tasks and ongoing support requirements of geospatial staff in the Americas North geography.
Oversee geospatial staff and assist them with data management, visualizations, cartography, spatial analysis, automation/scripting of spatial tasks, web development, and many other GIS-linked technical tasks on rail and other projects.
Coordinate and collaborate regularly with other geospatial leads in the Americas region to bring our clients the best digital solutions to our projects every day.
Assist the Digital Portfolio, service, and field leadership team with relationship building and promoting activities. - Liaise with our global digital rail teams to identify applications and use cases within the rail market specifically and help promote these applications across rail projects in the North geography and the greater Americas Region.
- Find opportunities to apply geospatial and related technologies for analyzing datasets and empowering Arup and its clients.

Is this role right for you?
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Software Development, Engineering, Information Technology or a related digital field.
- Requires 6-8 years using GIS and geospatial tech in various sectors like transportation.
- Experience working with GIS technologies such as ArcGIS Suite, ArcGIS Enterprise, mobile data capture tools (ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, Fulcrum), ETL and/or automation (FME, Python, PowerAutomate), Database management (SQL Server) and remote sensing technologies (PCI Geomatica, ERDAS Imagine)
- Experience with integrating GIS workflows with other data visualization tools such as PowerBI and CodeOnTime
- Experience handling ArcGIS Enterprise environments including user/group management, license allocation, supervising performance and reviewing/leading content.
- Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining web applications and services on Azure using solutions such as Azure active directory, Azure blob storage and/or Azure app service.
- Experience with coordinating a small technical team of geospatial consultants, including responsibility for teams’ allocation on projects, quality in work delivery, and professional development.
- Experience in supporting the development of commercial proposals for geospatial consulting work.
- Experience in detailed user requirements gathering and translation / mapping of requirements to digital solutions development pathways and functionalities.
- Strong communications skills, including ability to write and present with consideration of the interests and technical competence of a specific audience.

Toronto Hiring Range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Toronto is $100,000 to $110,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Toronto will differ.
