Due to our geographic location, we are very well positioned to work closely with our fire teams globally.

Hear from our Fire safety team at Arup.

The Opportunity

Arup’s fire engineering team in the Middle East is well-established, having had a presence in the region for over 20 years where we have delivered fire engineering solutions for many of the region’s most iconic projects such as Emaar’s Dubai Mall and Dubai Marina Mall, the new Guggenheim Museum in Abu Dhabi currently under construction to the recently completed Zayed International Airport Terminal A, Abu Dhabi. Currently our fire team are delivering the fire engineering design for the New Murabba Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for FIFA World Cup 2034 as well as many other large iconic projects across UAE and wider Gulf region.

The successful candidate will form part of the project team on a range of different projects, managing junior engineers, and being supported by the wider team as necessary. The role will involve interactive and collaborative working with our fire engineers and with colleagues throughout the multidisciplinary teams at Arup. The role gives the opportunity to travel within the Gulf region and further afield as projects require. The projects will be diverse, exciting and range from conceptual fire strategy and masterplan developments through to detailed design and handing over landmark projects.

Our Fire Engineering team takes a particularly active role in the development of our people and routinely provide opportunities to attend appropriate training and development courses. Also, because of the developing nature of fire engineering, employees are encouraged to attend annual conferences and CPD events (both internal and external). Once you have demonstrated a suitable skill level in fire engineering and delivery of projects there will be a number of opportunities to advance your career.

Experience in the principles of smoke control and means of escape are essential and knowledge of fire safety codes, standards and guidance associated with the industry is also important.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
