The Opportunity

Arup Façades is an enthusiastic, energetic, multi-disciplinary team of façade designers. It includes engineers, technical specialists, building physicists and architects, all of whom share a passionate interest in cladding design.

We have an opportunity for an accomplished Senior Structural Engineer to join the Facades team in London.

The role includes the following duties:

  • Lead a team of structural engineers working within the Facades London team. You will be a technical leader as well as assisting with development of skills, knowledge and experience of team members you will also manage the allocation of work for the team

  • Meet Architects and other design team members in design workshops to drive the development of the design of the façade.

  • Review the detailed design work of specialist façade contractors and be confident to discuss our view of their structural analysis and assessments.

Is this role right for you?

We’re looking for a candidate who:

  • Is a chartered structural or civil engineer.

  • Has completed a portfolio of medium to large scale projects.

  • Has business development skills to help win new projects.

  • Shows a strong ability to communicate with the team through sketching, drawing, in writing and using computer modelling tools.

  • Prepares clear and compelling reports to present the project team’s work and develop these at later stages into tender documentation.
