Our research encompasses predicted future weather patterns and changing definitions of comfort and discomfort. We apply this research to our work, providing comprehensive guidance for successful delivery of our clients’ projects.
The Opportunity
This is your chance to be a designer in the Façades Team at the Arup Madrid. This team specializes in the design of architectural envelopes for various building types, with a focus on unique and innovative projects.
As a Senior Façade Designer at Arup, you will:
- Coordinate project teams and developing facade projects.
- Interact and coordinate with clients, consultants, engineers, and industrial stakeholders involved in the projects.
- Develope architectural ideas, design proposals, and construction details.
- Determine performance objectives for building envelopes in collaboration with different engineering teams and sustainability consultants.
- Create project documentation, including details, reports, specifications, measurements, and budgets.
- Monitor and review projects.
- Provide technical assistance during construction (technical due diligence).
Does this role inspire you?
We are looking for someone that is willing to join a team of experts in the field. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Degree in Architecture, Technical Architecture, or Industrial Engineering.
- 5-8 years of experience coordinating projects or specializing in facade design.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions.
- Proficiency in freehand drawing and sketching.
- Knowledge of 3D drawing and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, and Revit.
- Fluent written and spoken skills in Spanish and English (C1 level).
- Interest in working on national and international projects, with a focus on sustainability, digital environments, and innovation.
Bonus if you have:
Experience in facade-related work, both in the office and on-site
