We are growing our Infrastructure Canada practice. Our team works with a range of key clients in Ontario, Quebec and across Canada helping our clients deliver their most challenging projects and are seeking a Senior Environmental Project Manager in our Toronto or Montreal office to participate in design development and lead our efforts supporting approvals of Infrastructure projects in the Rail, Highway /Roads, Water/Wastewater and Ports market sectors.   


  • Managing municipal EA/TPAPs for a range of planning projects.
  • Leading the environmental elements of major infrastructure project approvals including transportation, water and major civil projects
  • Identifying appropriate environmental approvals processes  and technical work programs to support the approval and stakeholders engagement.
  • Managing specialist input to EA project process.
  • Engaging in business development efforts to secure environmental planning projects
  • Preparing and managing preparation of high-quality project deliverables, including presentations
  • Preparing and delivering effective public presentations and representing Arup at clients and public meetings.
  • Establishing and maintaining connections with professional colleagues, identifying and developing marketing leads, preparing marketing proposals and materials, and representing Arup at interviews
  • Delivering high-quality products, undertaking financial management of projects and being responsible for client relationships, and management of staff and subconsultants.
  • Helping to lead, manage and mentor junior staff



  • Degree in civil engineering, environmental planning, city planning or closely related discipline
  • P Eng, OIQ, MCIP, RPP or equivalent designation is desirable
  • 15+ years relevant professional experience including recent (3+ years) experience in environmental assessments in Ontario and/or Quebec.
  • Understanding of environmental regulation at all levels of government
  • Demonstrated experience with a range of federal, provincial, and municipal sector clients
  • Experience in infrastructure delivery planning and site development is an asset
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Established working relationships with specialist firms who support the Environmental Assessment process (archaeology, heritage, ecology, etc.)
  • French language proficiency is desirable in Toronto and required in Montreal
