Our West Geography is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in our Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, or Seattle office. At Arup, we use the latest design technologies and analytic methods to deliver projects which make a real impact. Sustainability, carbon reduction, and resilience are at the core of what we do. We are looking for a skilled Senior Electrical Engineer who is excited by the opportunity to lead designs and projects in the Data Center space.  

 

Responsibilities  

  • Lead the design of electrical systems on medium to large-scale complex projects  

  • Lead the preparation and review of drawings and specifications.  

  • Lead projects and work closely with our data center clients to deliver quality work to meet their specific needs  

  • Present technical material for review by technical and non-technical audiences. Have a good grasp over trends and standard methodologies in the industry 

  • Connect solutions/ideas to bigger picture project and client goals  

  • Deliver timely feedback and recognition to others  

  • Mentor and supervise junior staff and collaborate with skillful multi-disciplinary teams maximizing our experience at the local, regional, and global levels  

 

 Qualifications  

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering  

  • 8 or more years of experience designing electrical systems for buildings, focus on data centers is a plus 

  • Ability to manage project deliverables and budgets while effectively prioritizing your tasks and those of others, balance assigned work, and exceptional organization skills are required  

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working  

  • Experience with 3D BIM software - Revit MEP  

 

 Preferred Qualifications  

  • Experience with design and analysis of Medium Voltage power systems 

  • Experience with design and analysis of Building Power Distribution systems 

  • Experience with design and analysis of redundant/tiered power distribution systems 

  • Experience with ‘business critical’ infrastructure 

  • Professional Engineer License in US  

  • Experience with power system modeling using SKM/ETAP or similar software  

  • Power flow studies 

  • Short circuit analysis 

  • Arc flash analysis 

Hiring Range: The good faith base salary hiring range for this job performed in California is $125,000 and $150,000. Benefits are not included in the base salary range. Summary of benefits are included in this posting with details provided to applicants at the time of interview. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of California will differ.
