We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Liverpool.

As a Senior Electrical Services Engineer you will be a key part of the Electrical Building Services team, taking lead engineer role on larger projects or multidisciplinary lead role on smaller projects while providing technical support and mentoring to the other Electrical engineers. You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and technicians in the Liverpool office with wider links to over 100 engineers and technicians within the North West & Yorkshire region.

Key responsibilities:

  • Apply your engineering expertise to shape our projects.
  • Work in an interdisciplinary environment to design buildings that maximise value for our clients whilst minimising their environmental impact.
  • Play an active role in all stages of our projects from feasibility through to completion across a number of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, energy, sport, health and mixed-use developments. 
  • Play a part in the ever-increasing digital transformation of our business, seeking new ways to increase our efficiency through automation and to offer new services to our clients through our integrated digital approach to design.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, ideally to Masters level.
  • Have achieved Chartered Engineering status through CIBSE, IET or other relevant body and degree qualified.
  • Demonstrable experience in the field of electrical building services design with experience across a range of project scales and building types.
  • Lead Electrical Services Engineering design responsibility on projects with experience of delivering projects from inception to completion
  • Experience of managing small and medium sized teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Excellent design and technical skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Collaborative approach with excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to demonstrate strong commercial awareness and develop successful client relationships.
  • Committed to own professional development and passionate about training and developing younger engineers and technicians.
  • A passion for design and an enthusiasm for architecture and sustainable building design.
  • Experience of working within a BIM environment using Revit / Revitzo / Navisworks.
  • Software skills in industry-standard software such as Trimble, Dialux / Relux and Strikerisk.

The Liverpool Building Engineering Services team are currently working on a wide range of projects including;

Science, Industry & Technology:

  • The Northwest Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Preston; 
  • Two confidential datacentres, one in the northwest and one in Europe


  • MECD, the new engineering campus for University of Manchester
  • Birtenshaw School for young people with special educational needs, Bolton


  • Radbroke Hall – Redevelopment of Barclays campus, Cheshire
  • Sensor City commercial/tech building remodelling, Liverpool
  • Project Dragonfly – decarbonisation project for commercial campus, UK

Leisure & Hotels:

  • Leicester Square Hotel, new build 9 storey hotel, London
  • St Sidwell’s Point – The UK’s first Passivhaus leisure centre, Exeter


  • Liverpool Central Station, Liverpool
  • The new Headbolt Lane Station, Merseyside
