About you

As a world leader in its field, Arup offers the full spectrum of civil engineering consulting services. We are seeking a talented Senior Drafter to join our Infrastructure Western Australian Highways team.  As a key member of the team, you will be involved in a broad range of skills relating to Main Roads WA drafting and design.  

To be successful in this role you will have:

•    Recognised relevant qualifications in Drafting or Engineering.
•    Relevant industry experience in Drafting within a consulting business environment.
•    Experience in the operation of software design tools including, AutoCAD or MicroStation packages.
•    Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies (including Chartered Status from the Institution of Engineers Australia).
•    Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments.
•    Effective written communication and report writing skills.

Bring your civil drafting technical expertise, natural problem solving ability and collaboration skills this exciting role! 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Drafter to work on various civil infrastructure design projects.  You will be involved activities such as drafting, training and support and maintaining CAD standards / technology within the group.

In this role you will:

•    Be responsible for the delivery and development of drafting activities in order to meet client requirements for the documentation of various civil infrastructure design projects.
•    Provide on-going training and support for the Highways group in the use of the latest version of AutoCAD and / or MicroStation.
•    Participate and contribute as a member of the CSN (CAD Skills Network), providing support and feedback to the Arup Australasia CAD users through CSN.  
•    Provide support for the Highways group in Infrastructure (and other groups as required), including taking responsibility for production of all drawing information using the latest version of CAD software (AutoCAD / MicroStation).
•    Provide new and innovative IT solutions to problems, ensuring the group keeps pace with new advancements in technology in the industry.
•    Develop and maintain CAD standards and IT procedures for the group
•    You will use a combination of standard and modified Drafting methods / techniques in order to solve problems including the use of Computer Aided Drawing (CAD).
