Joining Arup
Arup’s purpose, shared values and collaborative approach has set us apart for over 75 years, guiding how we shape a better world.

We are looking for a self-driven Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science and Geospatial Team. In this role, you will apply your expertise in AI/ML techniques to deliver impactful solutions across a wide range of sectors, including water, energy, climate, transport, asset management, and engineering. You’ll collaborate with diverse teams, mentor junior staff, and help grow our business by building strong client relationships and contributing to project delivery.

The Opportunity
· Work on cutting-edge projects across multiple sectors, leveraging data science techniques to extract valuable insights from both structured and unstructured data.
· Communicate your findings through written reports and presentations, adapting your style to different audiences, from technical to non-technical stakeholders.
· Plan, manage, and deliver data science work to meet client requirements, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
· Mentor and guide junior team members, delegating technical tasks and ensuring quality assurance in their work.
· Support business development by contributing to tender responses, building client relationships, and promoting the team’s work at conferences.

At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.

You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.

Is this role right for you?
· A recognised degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL, with experience in developing and deploying interactive data visualisation dashboards (e.g., PowerBI, Shiny, Streamlit).
· Strong understanding of advanced analytics techniques to solve complex problems using data.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
· Passion for problem-solving, working in a fast-paced environment, and managing multiple priorities effectively.
