The Opportunity
We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our BIA team in Milan. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially strong, motivated self-starter to accelerate their career while playing a key role in growing our business. You will lead high-quality project engagements, providing strategy, commercial, and policy advice to a wide range of private and public sector clients.
As a Senior Consultant at Arup you will:
- Lead commercial analysis, market assessments, market sizing, and develop business plans to inform decision-making.
- Conduct and lead interviews and workshops with internal and external experts to inform due diligence, strategy, and sustainable investment projects.
- Prepare impactful reports and presentations, clearly communicating complex findings to clients.
- Lead the preparation of business cases and perform economic analysis for infrastructure and energy projects.
- Develop client relationships, contributing to business development, project proposals, and delivery.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
- Contribute to the development of Arup’s in-house modelling tools for economic appraisal and commercial assessment.

We’re looking for someone passionate about commercial strategy and sustainable investments who has an interest in cities, infrastructure, and energy transitions.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
- Proven experience in commercial due diligence, market analysis, and business plan development, ideally for private sector clients.
- Experience working with infrastructure funds, private equity firms, institutional investors, or public-sector clients.
- Expertise in one or more sectors: clean energy transition, cities, transport, or utilities.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with a strong focus on data analysis and presentation.
- A passion for business development and client relationship management.
