Our Toronto Office is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Infrastructure team.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and run the design of key elements of large infrastructure projects including hydraulic modeling and stormwater management..
  • Supporting and mentoring  of junior staff in  support of their professional development and to review and help plan their technical work.
  • Coordinating with multiple groups and working in conjunction with project managers to help complete work you're leading
  • Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings
  • Communicating technical material in traditional and innovative ways for review by technical and non-technical audiences and stakeholders.
  • Understanding trends and standard methodologies in the civil and infrastructure markets; and
  • Participating in local Professional Associations

The Qualified Professional will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Master’s in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in stormwater management
  • P.Eng Ontario license
  • The ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, meet project timelines and outstanding organization skills required in our constantly evolving environment
  • Experience working with the City of Toronto, Toronto Water, TRCA, Metrolinx, MTO, and other municipal authorities in the GTA and experience gaining approval from these authorities.
  • Experience with 3D modelling using design software such as Autodesk and Bentley,.
  • Proficient in development/calibration/assessment of 1-D, 2-D and integrated hydraulic models for river basins and urban drainage (both storm and sanitary analysis) using a variety of hydraulic modeling packages including InfoWorks ICM, HEC-RAS, EPA-SWMM, PCSWMM, Mike Urban, Visual OTTHYMO, XPDrainage, SewerGEMS, and EPANET.
  • Experience utilizing geospatial processing programs such as ArcGIS in hydrological and hydraulic modeling and analysis as well as visual output of modeling results.
  • Experience developing and implementing digital workflows to improve project delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Low Impact Development (LID) Best Management Practices (BMPs) and experience delivering Green Infrastructure projects in Ontario is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills crucial for team-based working
  • Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
