Senior Architect Team Leader

We are looking for a senior Lead Architect to develop Architecture in Ireland and provide discipline leadership from concept stage to final handover, strongly focused in the Science, Industry and Technology (SI&T) sector. Our customers require that we provide a full design services including Architecture, the successful candidate will work with our internal Engineering teams and our Architectural partners to deliver a comprehensive service offering to our new and existing clients in SI&T. The Senior architect will join our vibrant SI&T team, working on exciting, technically challenging projects for our global clients in Ireland and across the world, would be based in our Cork office, Ireland and will grow to meet our client’s and business demands.

 

Your responsibilities

  • Client facing role to provide strong design leadership with a “Total Architecture” approach (single point of delivery of multidisciplinary services) founded on our Sustainable Futures program.

  • Work with our business leaders in the SI&T sector to win new work.

  • Bring innovation looking at new technologies in the built environment and the SI&T sector.

  • Custodian of knowledge associated with architecture on our projects.

  • Provide input into our projects from an architectural perspective.

  • Input or lead submissions where architecture is needed.

  • Liaison with Local Authorities in relation to planning and licencing on SI&T projects.

  • Design Management responsibility for projects with a large architectural element.

  • Assist in the Building Physics for SI&T projects.

  • Helping develop our increasing sustainable and digital approach to design

  • Working with and managing our external architectural partners.

  • Enhancing current delivery of “Total Architecture” primarily in the Science, Industry and Technology market

  • Reinforce our cross-discipline collaboration to refine designs with a holistic view of design and Technical Challenges

 

Current Projects/Skills and attributes needed

  • Qualified (RIAI/RIBA) architect with 15+ years’ experience.

  • Experience leading and managing design teams, project-based or firm-based, in response to different assignments.

  • Direct and extensive multidisciplinary experience working in the SI&T sector, in particular pharma, Life sciences and clean tech projects.

  • Ability to carry out project masterplans and site due diligence.

  • Experience working with and providing leadership to international and multidisciplinary design teams.

  • Strong concept design, presentation skills and freehand sketching.

  • Excellent communication skills and team-work spirit.

  • Entrepreneurial, responsible, and self-motivated.

  • Experience with architectural design software – Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino et al.

  • Ability to travel for project related activities.

  • Focused on sustainability and climate change.

 

Your Education/Profile

  • Degree holder in Architectural design or related majors.
